About this company
There are 25 year old Cabernet Sauvignon vines , as well as much younger Malbec , Cabernet Franc , and Grenache Noir vines surrounding the homestead. The annual harvest is sent to our winemaker Lourens van der Westhuisen , owner of Arendsig Estate in Bonnievale WC, where he produces Cabernet Sauvignon and Blanc de Noir wines of exceptional quality under our deKaap brand. These single vineyard wines are made with minimal interference throughout vinification . During fermentation natural yeast is used and no enzymes. Maturation takes place in neutral vessels to bring through the unique vineyard character. Annual production rarely exceeds 7500 litres from this truly boutique wine farm .
